Fort Lauderdale is a city which is also known as "Venice of America" due to its expansive canals. It is the county seat of Broward County and is the most visited tourist destination with around 10.35 million tourists visiting the city in 2006. It has miles of golden beaches and with more than 3,000 miles of navigable waterways. This city is also a major yachting center, with 100 marinas and boatyards along with almost 42,000 resident yachts.
